Extraordinary Love: When Was Your Last Date Night with Your Soul Mate

Sharing is caring!

Without seeming hokey, I ask you, are you married to your soul mate? Maybe you’re not married and you’re still searching for that person who is perfect for you.

I am not a marriage expert. I am not sure I am someone who is worthy of giving marital advice. Lenny and I work hard on our marriage. It is not perfect and I am not sure perfection is something that we seek in the subject of love. What marriage is perfect? I will say this, our love for each other is deep.

Lenny and I are very opposite. He is a charming socialite, I prefer to observe and people watch when not in my realm.

Lenny is a saver where I am a spender and a dreamer. He is much more practical when it comes to money.

Lenny makes many decisions based on emotion. I am more logical- sometimes overly analytical. This is of course non-money related decisions.

Lenny loves to take his time where I am on a mission.

I always have a project in mind, Lenny has learned to run from my projects.

Have you seen the book Attracting Your Extraordinary Love by Ricky Cohen?  Cohen loves helping people become better people and he offers priceless advice about how to attract your extraordinary love.

Even though Lenny and I are opposites, one thing we both love is a date night. They are vital when you’re raising a family and there is so much going on in life.

Last week we went on a date night to our favorite mom and pop Italian restaurant. Below are some of my favorite quotes from the book Attracting Your Extraordinary Love and a glimpse into our night.

  1. Your meal looks delicious! Our last date night was Friday. Now that our kids are older we’re able to get out together a couple of times a week.

I am fortunate to be married to my soul mate (we started dating when I was 16) but have to admit that it didn’t always feel that way. There have been times in our marriage where it was really a struggle. Times when I would sit across from the dinner table and wonder what in the world we would talk about once the kids were grown.

Kids, financial struggles and the stress of life in general can put a lot of stress on marriages. When we were engaged to be married I heard an elderly man talking about the secret to his successful marriage. He said “There were many times in our marriage when I didn’t like her. I’m sure there were many times in our marriage she didn’t like me. The secret is that we never felt that way at the same time. The other one just held on tighter and loved enough for the both of us.” That thought has gotten us through the rough times.
