I love when you can take learning and fun and combine them together, like this St Patrick Day craft. Learning to sort is a basic math skill that children can do at a very early age. This may be my favorite activity for kids yet! It combines colors, sorting and food with a holiday twist. What kid wouldn’t love shamrock color sorting?
Shamrock color sorting is simple and I even provide the fun printable.
For this activity you will need:
- Shamrock printable [provided below]
- Fruit loops or Fruity Cheerios
- A plate
Have your child match the fruit loops or cheerios to the colored shamrocks on the paper. You can cut out the shamrocks but I thought it would be easier to clean up if I left them on the paper.
My 3 year did great with the color sorting while my 2 year old just wanted to eat all the cheerios. (Have you tried Fruity Cheerios? Yum! We love them.)
The cleanup was easier then I expected. My kids ate most of the cheerios after they were sorted!
Wanna try your luck at shamrock color sorting? Click on the printable, save then print the sheet and enjoy!
Have fun learning and enjoying this tasty treat!
I am sharing this awesome educational activity on these linky parties. Linky parties are a great way to grow your blog!
