As you guys know, we homeschool our kids. We just started our fifth year of it, and we still love it! We love that we can do school work in our pajamas and there is no rush on getting things done at the same time. After all, I really feel like my kids are growing so much by working at their own pace. No one person learns the same as the next.

Some days are easy and smooth and I feel accomplished, while others are long and stressful. Both scenarios are normal. Either way I love leading my kids through their education. We are all our children’s first teacher and there are so many rewards with being able to teach your kids at home.

Whether you are a homeschool mom, stay-at-home mom, or a working outside of the home mom, you know life gets crazy. Our schedules are filled with obligations including mandatory appointments, grocery store trips, and practice runs (just to name a few). Add to that all of the worry, organizing, and home maintenance we tend to every day. It is a lot!

Try as hard as I may, sometimes planning far ahead does not always work out. Let’s face it, life can just be overwhelming with all of our to-do lists. If you are having a hard time with dinner consider these tips that I always try to keep in mind.

6 Tips for Handling Busy Weeknight Dinners

1. Take the stress out of dinner worries with a meal plan. I know you may be thinking “I can’t do this!” but you can! If you take a little time to plan ahead than that is half the battle!

2. Keep your dinners simple! Don’t attempt to conquer a recipe for dinner that requires a ton of babysitting and ingredients you don’t know how to pronounce. Dinner can be done quick and efficiently with simple recipes!

3. Designate tasks! Don’t hesitate to get the whole family involved. The older kids can help pre-cut veggies and all the kids can help with maintaining dishes. There is nothing more frustrating than attempting to conquer dinner when you first have to clean the kitchen.

4. Consider make-ahead freezer meals and Crockpot cooking. Seriously I live by this! Freeze meals ahead of time that can be thrown together later or dump it in the Crockpot and go. So simple!

5. Consider a routine for weeknight dinners. Plan a Friday pizza night or a Tuesday taco night. This is great to implement a routine and things will go smoothly for sure!

6. Have a backup plan! Just something you can heat up and satisfy the hungry crowd at your house. Make dinner easy peasy with Michael Angelo’s Signature Line as your go-to when you need something amazing and quick.
