My boys cannot wait to see Despicable Me 3… they have asked every single day since it hit theaters on June 30th.

We have see the first and second movie. Actually, we just re-watched the second movie a few weeks ago in preparation for the upcoming new flick! My Minions love these Minions!

We are going to go watch it while we’re visiting my in-laws in San Antonio, so in the meantime I took them to Toys “R” Us where you can find just about every Despicable Me 3 toy there is.

These balloons grabbed our attention. All DM3 and you can fill them up at once. Can you say water balloon fight?

Have your kids ever followed behind you in the store with a fart noise maker?

Only me?

Really??

They think they are so funny!

These toys are like having a real Minion at home. Guaranteed for kids to love!!

We ended up grabbing the Despicable Me 3 Operation game. Family game night fun at Grandma and Grandpa’s!! Every game night needs more Minions!

As soon as we made it to San Antonio the kids were ready to play Operation! We installed the batteries, set up the game, and read the rules.

Eleven-year-olds are all about the rules. Even if they have played the game before, a new variation may have new rules and we must be up to speed!

A game from my childhood that is updated and coincides with a new movie they cannot wait to see.

Score!!

All it takes is some skill and some family friendly competition.

We did everything we could to help Minion Dave recover from slipping on a banana peel and landing in a patch of prickly pineapples. He is left with cheesy indigestion and it’s up to us to make him feel better!!

Just like the traditional Operation game, we use the tweezers to remove these twelve items and try hard to not get buzzed!

Yes, even mom and dad make the buzzer go of sometimes!

And, one of the cool things about this? Even the 3 year old loved playing it with us and it’s a great way to build fine motor skills and hand strength! It’s also an awesome opportunity to remind kids that we take turns and how electricity works!! See, we always find a learning and skill building opportunity!

Did you know you can play Operation solo too?

Yep, there are directions inside on the box on how to do this!

You know, for those times you’ve beat everyone and no one wants to play anymore.

Such an exciting way to play this Funatomy game!!

Head to your local Toys”R”Us and pick out your favorite Despicable Me 3 toy! (These toys also make awesome summer birthday gift ideas!)

Tell me, why are you excited to see the new DM3 movie? Have you seen the first two?

  1. I loved the game operation as a child … I can still remember that annoying Buzzzzz when I’d miss trying to take out the funny bone. As I was reading your post and scrolled down far enough to see this version I laughed out loud. I’m definitely going to have to get this for my grandsons!

  2. What a fun post! All of the board games are sure bringing back memories. I remember spending hours with my best friend when we were kids playing Operation. Also, I might have to pick up some of the little balloons. My grandson would love to have a water fight in the backyard the next time he comes to visit! x

  3. Ooh this is quite interesting! It’s actually the first time I’ve heard of the Operation game. Sounds like an opportunity to get one and play it with my nephew and nieces! For sure they lo e the DM franchise so yes!!
