Fall Tree Counting Craft for Preschoolers

Sharing is caring!

It’s that time of the year when activities for kids are all about leaves & trees, yellows, reds & oranges – all reflective of the FALL season. So today, I am visiting from Kidz Activities to share one of our many crafts for preschool: a Fall Tree Counting Craft. I love creating crafts that encourage kids to learn, because crafts extend kids’ imaginations and it makes learning fun. This fall tree craft is first a counting activity, teaching number recognition and sequencing from 1 to 20. And the end result is a cute fall tree craft. It’s a creation that is pretty enough to frame and hang on the walls.

What You Need:

How to Make Your Fall Tree:

1. Print out the Fall Tree Counting Craft Printable. Spread some glue all over the printable.

2. Sit down with your preschooler and ask him/her to put a button on each number, starting from the number 1. Some 4-year-olds may need an adult’s guidance with the ‘teens’ (11 to 20). But a 5-year-old will hopefully be able to do it independently. Once you’ve worked your way up to number 20, they’ve then accomplished the counting activity.

3. Continue on to make the Fall Tree pretty. Encourage your child to put more buttons on the branches of the tree, on the ground or midway (pretending some ‘leaves’ are falling). The end result is a beautiful fall tree craft that you can frame and hang proudly in your child’s room.

Tip: If you think your child would like to do this activity again and again, laminate the Fall Tree Counting Craft Printable or cover it in contact. This way, your child can repeat the counting activity as much as s/he would like to.
