Weekly Meal Plan 154: How to Meal Plan and Get Dinner on the Table

Sharing is caring!

Do you struggle with getting dinner on the table for your family? I am here to help.

I can teach you how to meal plan in five easy steps. My goal is to help you get dinner on the table for your family without you reinventing the wheel or running around like a chicken with your head… well, you know.

For me, easy recipes are what my meal plan is based around every week.

How many days a week do you meal plan for at a time?  I only do one week because that is manageable for me. I do not have the space to store more than that in my pantry and fridge and I get overwhelmed when I bite off two weeks at a time.

If two weeks at a time works best for you, then do that. If monthly works best for you, do that. If your plan does not meet your needs it will fail.

Some people like to assign themes; Meatless Monday, Chicken Tuesday, Pasta Wednesday, Crockpot Thursday, Leftover Friday, etc. If this works for you, go for it!  Check out my meal planning eBook for my step by step guide.

Here is what I am feeding my family this week:

Puerto Rican Stew– this is amazing and a great warm-me-up kind of meal. We do not need warming up in North Texas right now, as it has been in the 70’s and almost 80’s for a couple of days now, but if it is cold where you live this is a must for your meal plan. And it is budget friendly. ( I do use organic potatoes.)

Taco Soup– served with cornbread or tortilla chips (haven’t decided yet- I have both on hand).

Taco Soup Tostadas– great way to use up leftover Taco Soup.

Kraft’s Cheesy Chicken Pasta– we love this recipe. I have been making it for a couple of years now. It is an all in one dinner and serve it with bread or a salad if you want, but not needed. I will take step by step pics this week when I make it and share the recipe on my site soon, but for now hop over to the Kraft site if you want to make it.

Coconut Rice and Red Beans– this is so simple. I prefer to serve it with kidney beans. My sides are steamed broccoli and fresh carrots sticks.

Quinoa Broccoli and Chicken Salad– this looks really good. I have a 4 lb bag of quinoa I got on Amazon that I need to use up.

  1. I’m making a blog visit from Organizing Junkie’s Menu Plan Monday today.
I have lots of chicken in the freezer so I’m always looking for tasty chicken recipes.
It’s a sunny and warm day in Las Vegas. I’ve been living on the West coast for 18 years. It’s funny when friends, from Maine, will mention that they’re shoveling snow I caught off guard. That’s right, you’re dealing with snow!
Hope you have a wonderful and delicious week!
