Easy Recipes: Crockpot Green Bean Casserole
side dish
We love green bean casserole and to be able to make it in the crockpot makes it so flexible. I like being able to get is going in the crockpot and then it moves to warm when done and then as soon as my meat is done cooking, dinner is done. Easy recipes like this are my favorite. This is also great for the holidays. Prepare it in the crockpot and forget about it while you move on to the other items that need to be made before your guests arrive.
  • 18 oz frozen green beans (I left them frozen)
  • 1 (10 oz) can cream of mushroom
  • 1½ c french fried onions
  • ¾ c milk
  • fresh cracked pepper, to taste
  1. Take all of the ingredients, except only half of the friend french onions, and mix them together.
  2. Add the mixture to the crockpot.
  3. In the 6 qt crockpot, cook on high for 4 hours or on low for 6-8 hours.
  4. Once the casserole is done, add the remaining french fried onions to the top. Spread the onions out evenly.
  5. Pop the lid back on and leave it on warm until the rest of dinner is done. Twenty minutes is good, even longer is just as well.
  6. Plate it up with your favorite protein and dinner is done.
For this recipe I used my 6 qt oval crockpot. You could also use a 4 qt crockpot as long as it is not more than ¾ of the way full, otherwise it will take much longer to cook.
