Lay your sliced onions in the bottom of an oval 6 qt crockpot.
Spread them out evenly. Then add the minced garlic.
Place your chicken on top of the onions.
Crack fresh pepper over it and add some salt. Do this according to your taste.
Evenly spread the jar of pumpkin butter over the chicken. Pop a lid on it and cook for 4-6 hours on high.
I put sweet potatoes in the oven about an hour before the chicken was done.
