Cookie Cutter Spider Cookies

Spooky fun! These Cookie Cutter Spider Cookies are a tasty treat for any occasion!

INGREDIENTS:

Cookie Ingredients: – 1 Cup Unsalted Sweet Cream Butter, softened – 1 1/2 Cups Powdered Sugar – 1 Teaspoon Vanilla – 1 Egg – 3 Cups Flour – 1 Teaspoon Baking Soda – 1 Teaspoon Cream of Tartar – Spider Cookie Cutter

INGREDIENTS:

Icing ingredients: – 4 Egg Whites – 1/2 Teaspoon Cream of Tartar – 1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla – 4 1/2 Cups Powdered Sugar – Black Gel Food Coloring – 1 Disposable Piping Bag Fitted with a Number 2 Tip – 1 Squeeze Bottle – 1 Package of Small Edible Eyes

To Make the Cookies: Cream butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and egg in a mixer. In a bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and cream of tartar. Gradually add dry ingredients to mixer, then mix by hand until combined. Knead dough lightly on a floured surface.

Roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thick. Cut out 12 spiders and place onto a cookie sheet. Bake for 8 minutes or until lightly golden brown.

Repeat steps until completely out of dough. Let cookies cool completely

Royal Icing Directions: Mix egg whites, cream of tartar, vanilla, and sugar until stiff peaks form. Add black gel color. Fill piping bag with some icing. Thin remaining icing with water and transfer to a squeeze bottle.
