Puerto Rican Rice

This is a family recipe from my mother-in-law and sister-in-law. This recipe is so flavorful and super easy to make too!

INGREDIENTS:

– olive oil – garlic – tomato sauce – sazon – adobo – sofrito – green olives and olive juice – gandules beans – white rice – water – salt and pepper

In a large pot on the stove top, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the garlic, Sazon, Adobo, and salt and pepper.

Add in the olive juice and Sofrito. A few olives are ok to go in the pot as well.

Pour in the small can of tomato sauce and the can of beans and bring everything to a boil.

Add in the rice and rest of the water give things a good stir to combine. Once rapidly boiling, cover and reduce the heat to simmer things for 25 to 30 minutes. Do not open the lid.

Once time is up uncover and stir. There will be a crust at the bottom of the pan that is so good too! Serve it up!
