What was I thinking?

Sharing is caring!

When my husband and I first started dating, he would send me flowers. As in, all the time! We worked together and sometimes I would come in and there were flowers waiting for me on my desk. Sometimes they were delivered. Something there would be flowers on my front doorstep at home.

Boy did this bring lots of questions. I mean, you can’t get flowers at work every week and not have everyone notice. This went on for a while and while I loved them, it drew so much attention.

Finally one day I told him, on a whim, that I really did not like getting flowers…  I was not a flower girl.

What was I thinking!?!? We laugh about it now, but what girl in her right mind would say she did not like flowers?

Fast forward well over a decade. Together we have 6 children (he came to the marriage with two, I came to our marriage with one and together we have 3). We are now in the final stages of adopting a little guy who has lived with us for a year and a half and we are caregivers for his infant brother. Yes, that is a lot of kids. A lot of boys, might I add! Life never slows down and for crying out loud, I miss flowers.

I cannot tell you how many times we laugh about the fact that I ever told him I hating getting flower deliveries. And I think from time to time he really believes I meant it.

I will be 40 soon and let me tell you, there is something about flowers on the kitchen table that says home. There is something about a flower delivery at your door that says someone took the time to brighten your day. What an absolutely gorgeous creation.

Flowers say someone took the time to think of you. What if you could have a monthly delivery every single month for your kitchen table or your entry way or your bedroom? Goodness, they could even be delivered to work.

There is a red box roaming the streets and one can be headed to your house or anyone’s house you know. Every month. For as many months as you see fit.

Have you heard of BloomsyBox? It’s a monthly box subscription in the form of stunning flower bouquets.  This will turn any frown upside down and brighten any day!

We had a delivery a few weeks back and it was so lovely. The flowers sat on our kitchen table in a simple mason jar for well over a week. Every single time I looked at them they made me smile. All of these years and kids later, a flower delivery says “you are loved”.

You may be wondering were they in good condition when they were delivered? That picture above is right out of the box. Follow the simple directions on the card inside the box (like trim the stems down, use cold water and add the included plant food to your water). Within hours these rose buds drank up the water and were in full bloom. Stunning, I tell you!

Know someone with a birthday coming up? Why send flowers once and be done? Send a monthly subscription. Your box might include roses, orchids, tulips, or even mini calla lilies. Maybe you love hydrangeas, gerberas or daisies? Your deliveries will be beautiful and never boring. You can skip or unsubscribe at any time. Gift the service or send it to yourself!! Thirty to forty bucks a month for a stunning monthly delivery that says “hello, home!”.

And ladies, never tell your man that you don’t like flowers…. because he may believe it for over a decade!

  1. LOL, too funny! I totally understand why you would tell your hubby that you weren’t really a flower girl if you were getting that much attention at work. I love flowers but I don’t get them nearly as often as I would like.
Totally going to bookmark that page and leave it open…maybe the hubby will get the hint without me “telling him” about it. LOL!!

  2. These are seriously SOOOOOOO gorgeous. I love the color. I am hoping my husband gets me some beautiful flowers, although I am hoping more for a new patio set. lol

  3. Aww .. what a sweet story! I’m a huge flower girl myself. For as long as I can remember I’ve had some in the kitchen window. When I was a poor college student, it was daisies from the neighbor’s garden. Today it’s a pretty bouquet from Trader Joe’s. There’s nothing that brightens my day more then seeing them every morning

  4. My mom loves flowers a lot and this subscription service is right up her alley. We’re opposites though, I haven’t had the greatest appreciation in flowers. Anyway, this is a nice share.

  5. I love Flowers and I just received some from my hubby! I do need to tell him about the BloomsyBox monthly subscription so he could sign me up to receive flowers every month…lol!

  6. That is such a cute story! I would love to have flowers at home every week!

  7. I will be honest I am the type who would kill flowers in 3 days. I love looking at them but I want to take better care of them. This flower box subscription is fun and I probably would learn how to dry them and make rose water facial tonic or pressed flower photos out of them!

  8. I don’t often buy flowers for the house, for every once in a while when I do, I love having them in the house! They just add such elegance and warmth to the room.
