It’s kind of crazy the twists and turns life throws your way. We map out our lives and believe things will always stay on track. Sometimes our plan is not the plan at all. When I had my youngest child eight and a half years ago I was certain we would not have anymore children. Afterall, I got my tubes tied. It was my last time to baby proof, toddler proof, last first steps and first words At least I thought. Our family has had a lot of change the last two years. In November 2015, we began caring for a little boy who was eighteen months old. His older siblings and grandparents go to our church. It has been so long since we’d had a toddler in our home and that was step one. When Luke Henry came to our home our first stop was the store to get the essential things we needed. Car seat, baby wipes and diapers. I grabbed my trusted Pampers from all of my years of raising babies. For all of our other boys that is what I used. Luke Henry is now three year old and we are official conservators for him and in the process of finalizing his adoption to make him a Lopez. But our story does not end there. Last December (2016), Luke Henry’s baby brother, Jack, was moved to our home. He was five months old. Boy was this an adjustment. It had been so long since I had an infant in my home. In the beginning, because we were not sure how long Jack would be in our home, I struggled. I was scared to bond with him and fall in love with a baby who may not be in our home forever. Soon he was rolling over and then crawling around. We’ve experienced first steps, first words and he is now all over the house. He plays patty cake and mimics the sounds as I sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star to him. Jack is now fifteen months old and still Pampers are what I reach for. I trust them! Pampers Cruisers are perfect for toddlers on the move! Look at that sweet boy! We just love him so. We are so attached to him and cannot wait to make him a Lopez. It’s crazy how plans change, isn’t it. Such a great reminder that our plans are not our own. Do you ever shop at Sam’s Club? Right now through through October 31 you can get $8 off the purchase of two Pampers diapers or wipes items AND free shipping or Club Pickup. Remember Club Pickup? We did that a few months ago. You order online, pull up and they load you up. Because chasing toddlers in public places is no fun (like grocery shopping), Club Pickup and the Sam’s Scan & Go app let busy parents bypass the register and make stocking up with a new kiddo on the move even easier.
At the end of the day, even if you think you’re done with the toddler years you just never know when life might change. Being caregivers for these two children was not something we were seeking. We had no idea that these were God’s plans for our family. But this is such a great reminder that His plan was the perfect plan. And we are so grateful for Pampers!
