So, You’re Having Twins… Diaper Bags Part 2 (Guest Post)

Sharing is caring!

Crystal & Co - Twins

All week long here at Crystal & Co. we are tackling the topic of diaper bags in our So, You’re Having Twins…. series. I have reached out to other mom’s of multiples to ask them to share their tips and advice about their favorite diaper bag. When you have to lug stuff around for more than one baby… you need a bag with specific accommodations in mind. These bags will also work well for those who have babies close in age. No one wants to carry two diaper bags everywhere you go!

Today Sonora is here to share her favorite diaper bag with us. Don’t forget to read her bio at the end and be directed to her awesome site!

Learning you are going to be a new parent is both exhilarating and terrifying. All of the sudden there is this tiny, helpless, adorable baby (or babies) that relies solely on you to know what to do to take care of them. The task is enormous, yet amazingly wonderful.

One of the first things that you need in order to survive an outing of any kind with your babies is a diaper bag. For some reason this item stressed me out so much with my first two babies. I don’t know what I thought would happen if I didn’t have the right diaper bag, but I didn’t want to find out.

When the twins came along, I simply didn’t have the time to worry about it and I had already learned that in a pinch (ok I do it fairly regularly) a plastic grocery sack worked just as well. If you are more conventional than I am and do not really want to carry around a grocery sack, I can suggest two diaper bags that served us quite well with the twins.

My only criteria for a diaper bag for the twins was that I wanted a big bag. One that was big enough to hold everything necessary for taking two babies out of the house, but not so big that it would be difficult or annoying to carry around.

We were given this great yet inexpensive large winnie the pooh bag, which was perfect. It had plenty of room for all of the items it needed to hold, but was still cute and convenient to use. There were pouches on both sides for bottles, a changing pad (which I honestly never used), and several pockets.

I could not find a picture of the exact bag we used, but this is very close.

As the boys have gotten older, we have found that we don’t need to take quite as much with us when we leave the house, so I found a smaller Eddie Bauer bag to be the perfect solution.

It has just enough space for diapers, wet wipes, snacks, a few toys, and two bottles. It is small and easy to carry and doesn’t scream I’M A DIAPER BAG. It has been one of the best diaper bags I have owned.

When all is said and done, what really matters is that you can get from point A to point B and back again with everything that you need. My advice is not to stress about a bag, buy one that fits your budget and your idea of what you need, and keep a few plastic sacks on hand just in case.

Good luck!
