Let’s talk some trash. I mean let’s talk about trash. It is such a pain. Such a chore among our household of many, but inevitably so we have trash in massive quantities. With 2 little ones in diapers and a houseful of boys, the trash can serves as a home base for tons of diapers, food wrappers, and boogie wipes aside from everything else. The struggle is real. Sometimes I look at the curb on trash day and can’t even fathom the idea that we have actually used that much trash. It is insane. On a typical day, it is super easy to go through more trash than I realize.
With 6 kids in our home and 2 of them in diapers, our trash is quickly overloaded. Years ago I started buying lawn bags because the smaller ones just didn’t seem to cut it.  On top of that, the lawn bags are just not cutting the smell in my kitchen. They just are not solving my woes of trash these days! Sure they hold lots of trash but they don’t hold up as well. Turns out this is an actual problem for so many families out there. The traditional bags just aren’t enough and the larger lawn bags don’t serve the right purpose nor do they have the right protection to hold up against odors and leaks. It also turns out that a lot of other families I know are using the same bags and are not totally happy with the results.
So I have set out to find a bag that will work for my family and for my trash load and I hit the jackpot! Have you guys seen these new Glad KitchenPro trash bags? They are seriously a big families trash can dream and available at Target!
They are equipped with all of the perks of a traditional kitchen bag but the capacity and strength of a big outdoor trash bag. So for me, this is a huge win for my kitchen trash can! Plus there is added leak protection and no worry for bad odors because they neutralize bad odors with Febreze! Yet another mom win!
So, no more stinky trash cans and enough space to handle all the trash that out family throws out. Finally, a trash bag that serves its purpose and makes my life so much easier!
This is a real big family struggle! Maybe your big family looks a little different than mine, but at the end of the day we all have something we need help with!

  1. We recycle about 90% of our “trash” and recommend it but you are right when it comes to QUALITY trash bags we reach for Glad as well! I have to say it cracked me up when you said “let’s talk trash” 🙂

  2. We are not really a big family, and I can’t believe how much trash we have some weeks. We do recycle as much as possible. Thankfully our city upgraded our cans to really large ones, and we’re able to recycle even more now. Yet some weeks we still have a lot of trash.

  3. Its definitely crazy when the house is big, the messes are bigger.

  4. Trash is literally one of my pet peeves. I have a family of four and I never tire of walking to take the trash out. My husband has to literally fight me to take the trash out because as soon as I see it getting nearly full, I’m all over it. There’s nothing worse than poorly made trash bags, so thanks for the recommendation. I’ll look for them in the store!

  5. We recycle as much as we can, but yes, there is a lot of trash. I am so glad that we are done with diapers! I know that diapers took up a lot of room in our garbage back in the day. I don’t envy you at all on that one!

  6. We have a family of 4 and we still have a lot of trash that we take out twice a week. Recycling is another big load too. You are definitely not alone. I hear you about needing trash bags that are big enough.

  7. We live on a farm with multiple people and animals. It’s so much trash sometimes. We recycle a lot, reuse alot, put some in the trash, compost and burn some. It’s a lot of work. We used to have 7 foster kids under 6 in the city years ago. It was a ridiculous amount of trash.

  8. We have a major issue with trash, but more so the space to put all the recycle bins! We go through a ton of trash but we have a very small kitchen, and even less storage space. We end up putting all the bins right outside the kitchen door and throw everything out there. It works in the winter, but not in the summer when we spend time outside!!

  9. t’s so true I have three kiddos and two dogs and it’s safe to say we have plenty of garbage. You really do need a bag that’s going to be strong and last. We actually tried these bags recently, loved them and the added scent!! Cause garbage is also so stinky! 😀

  10. Oh Trust me I can relate! I have 6 kiddies and the trash seems to be never ending… I think I ’empty the trash’ at least 3 times a day!! Oh and I don’t even wanna say how many trash cans I have around the house! It would be a disaster without awesome trash bags like GLAD.
