Cookies for Santa (Creating a Christmas Tradition)

Sharing is caring!

Cookies for Santa has been a tradition at our house since my first son was born.

We generally open one gift from under the tree (pajamas), leave out milk and cookies and then read Twas the Night Before Christmas as a family.

The milk and cookies do not have to be elaborate. You don’t have to decorate the cookies, although you can if you want. It is a great memory your kids will always cherish. You can do simple cookies or even store bought.

And for the milk, let’s kick it up a notch and make that milk super tasty. You’re going to love what we’ve done.

I always have coffee creamer in the fridge. My husband and our boys love to do this simple little trick I am going to show you to make their milk a little sweet.

This would work perfect for your milk and cookies for Santa.

Fill your glass about three-fourths of the way full with milk.

Pour in 2-3 tablespoons of your favorite International Delight coffee creamer. We did Gingerbread Latte this time.

Here are the Christmas-time flavors that are perfect for adding to milk:

  • Peppermint Chocolate Truffle
  • White Chocolate Raspberry
  • Pumpkin Pie Spice
  • Gingerbread Latte
  • Sugar Cookie

Just pour it in.

Little milk bottles work perfect for this. You can grab them for a buck or two at your local craft store.

Add a festive straw.

Plate up your cookies and even leave a note if you want.

Our boys love to leave a note for Santa!

Super easy and it does not take a lot of planning.

I hope this is a tradition you will start with your family.

Have you ever tried adding a splash or two of coffee creamer to your glass of milk? Which flavor is your favorite?
