Sharing is caring!

Over the last few weeks Kelli, from 3 Boys and a Dog, and I have been sharing with you guys a Google+ Hangout series that discussed all the hot topics of how to blog. Kelli and I are very passionate about helping bloggers take their site to the next level.

We have focused a great deal on social media platforms and how to utilize them to grow, grow, grow. And we are not just talking grow your numbers. We want you to grow your site, sure, but we want you to see the overall big picture. Our goals are to grow our readers and relationships and community. Make it full circle, if you will.

Today we are focusing on a topic Kelli has been dying to discuss with you guys- How to Use Tribes to Grow Your Blog.

Kelli and I have worked together for over a year in a goal oriented tribe. In this video we share exactly how we set this up and our tips and pointers for getting your own tribe set up.

Kelli and I also give you specific tasks for a beginning blogger as well as an advanced blogger to get your blogging tribe set up, moving and to make it successful. Watch the video for those details.

Join us next week (3-26-13) at 10:00 am CST over on Google+ as we discuss Blog Improvements. We will talk about the 10 blog must haves and the 10 things we hate about your blog. ((said with love))

Let me know if you need an invite so you can RSVP. You will need to be in either my circle or Kelli’s circle to get an invite, but we can totally make that happen for you!

I’m interested in finding a tribe but how do I know what another blogs traffic is?

    1. When you take a look at someone’s site see if they mention their pageviews in their About or PR/Advertising section.

Also, take a look at their archives and that might give you an indication of how large they are. If they started blogging about the same time you did AND you both publish new content consistently, it is possible you guys are about the same size. Also, check the sizes of their Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest communities and that will likely give you an idea if they are the same size as you.

Once this is determined just send them an email (or use their contact page) and invite them to be part of your tribe. From there see if they have recommendations for members as well and grow your tribe that way.

      Hope that helps.

  2. This was an awesome video with tons and tons of great info for me {new blogger} ~ I am in the process of working with a few gals setting up a tribe so your information in so helpful. Thank you. This is the first video I’ve watched of your’s {and Kelli’s} but I have read a lot of your written information and have been trying to apply everything that you’ve been teaching. I’ll be back for next week’s video and I’m going to watch your other Blogging Tips videos. By the way, you mentioned the site you want us to look at. Is it growmap.com? I couldn’t quite hear if it was map or mat or something else. Thanks again. Have a great day.

    1. Hi Lori- Thank you so much for the feedback. We are so happy you’re finding these videos and posts helpful for the growth of your blog.

The other site we reference is http://www.growmap.com- hope that helps.

If there are any blogging topics you’re interested in knowing more about please let us know as we prepare for more topics.

  3. I watched this twice – it was the best time I spent blogging all year so far. Thank you ladies for sharing such great advice. I never realised what being in a tribe could achieve! Now I just need to make/join one.

My blog is JUST about sewing. So I don’t want to join with bloggers who all just do sewing too, but i terms of posting with like keywords, guest posting etc, I am struggling to think of what other niches I could look at for my tribe. I can’t really guest post about anything other than sewing, and don’t know if I could accept posts on other subjects into my blog as it is so sewing specific.

    Do you have any ideas?

And in terms of topics for the future – all about google dfp please. I can’t make head or tail of it. I know how it should work and why, I just have no idea how to set it up!

    Thank you

  4. Crystal and Kelli,

Thanks for shedding light on blog tribes. Now I know what and where to look.
