Healthy Snacks for Tots and Preschoolers (Go Natural)
Although we homeschool now, we live a pretty busy life that has many days of on-the-go! Especially when one or more of our kids is playing a sport. I am sure you can relate!
I have shared with you guys before that I am a stickler for healthier snack options. Applesauce has long been a standby snack for us, but in all these years I have not tried the applesauce pouches. Have you?
When our oldest two were little, applesauce pouches were not on the market, to my knowledge.
When our twins, who are now seven, came along these pouches were just hitting the market, by some brands, when they were out of the toddler stage.
And when Matthew was totting around, I really never gave these pouches much notice because I had raised so many kids without them.
Well, I finally tried them and let me tell you, they sure are convenient and easy.
As you know, Matthew is four now. He can do a lot by himself. He knows where the applesauce is in the fridge, and the juice boxes for that matter.
He knows which drawer to go to so he can get his own snack.
These applesauce pouches are pretty cool, especially for on the go.
And the best part? You can get Mott’s Snack & Go Natural applesauce pouches as an option–with no added sugar. We avoid high fructose corn syrup at our house at all costs. It makes my kids bounce off the walls!
I love that we can get these with additional flavor, like strawberry, yet still there is no sugar added and no HFCS! This is huge! (Did you know that Mott’s for Tots has 40% less sugar than traditional Mott’s and they do not use any artificial sweeteners? That means a lot to me!)
When we’re headed out the door, say to an older brother’s football practice, Matthew can grab one of these applesauce pouches and pop it in his cup holder. It fits perfectly.
Once we are at practice, he can twist the cap off and enjoy. No spoon needed. Total convenience, no nutrition sacrificed.
And, he even figured out how to pop that lid back on to save the rest of the pouch for later.
I am loving these and wishing I had taken advantage of them long ago.
I can see these as perfect snacks to have on hand, no matter what stage your little ones are at. Toss them in the diaper bag, in your purse or even in their lunchboxes!
Matthew and I are Mott’s fans! He gave them a thumbs up and so do I!
Thank you Mott’s® and Technorati for being sponsors of this article. All opinions expressed here are my own.

what a cutie that Matthew is and seems he really enjoys his healthy snack. That’s so great when they enjoy something that is good for them too win win
Ang- he loves, loves, loves applesauce. It really is a win, win!
Awe, he is the sweetest thing ever and I can tell he surely loves his Motts! I need to invest in some of these for when we do all our Holiday Traveling this month!
I really wish I had tried these two years ago. My little Matthew is an applesauce addict and these would have certainly come in handy!
I love anything easy …. and healthy! Yay for Motts!
Sherri- I am right there with ya!
Those squeeze packs are awesome! Even my teens like them.
Anderea- isn’t it crazy the things that will work for any age? That is awesome (and cool)!
We LOVE applesauce pouches! They are so convenient and handy, and you don’t have to sacrifice nutrition for the convenience. We haven’t tried the Mott’s ones yet, though!
Carrie- you are so right. I love the way you put that- not sacrificing nutrition for convenience. I really wish I had given these a try a long, long time ago!
I love Motts and easy to go snacks for my daughter!
We only drink Motts for Tots in our house. I haven’t tried the pouches yet, but definitely will! They sound like a great go-to snack!
I don’t have a little one anymore, but if I did, I would certainly purchase these. I trust the Mott’s brand and won’t buy another brand apple juice! I am glad to see your little one enjoy his treat!
