Incontinence is Real, Ladies (And You’re NOT Alone)
I remember when I was a young girl hearing my mother and her twin sister having a conversation…
My mother wanted to know she was not alone. She had given birth to five children over the course of ten years. Her twin sister had given birth to three children, including a set of twins, Â in about a five year period.
I remember my mother asking her twin sister does this happen when you cough or sneeze sometimes? They were in their late twenties early thirties.
Now, almost thirty years later, I am like… hello bladder.
Incontinence Facts:
• More people with bladder leakage are in their 20’s than their 80’s
• The average age of someone with bladder leakage is only 52!
• More people with bladder leakage are 50 or younger than 60 or older!
Does this make you feel less alone?
You are not the only one this happens too.
And neither am I.
Nor were my mother and her twin sister.
There are 65 million people who deal with this.
I can tell you I noticed a huge difference after delivering my twins in 2006. I wondered if my bladder had fallen… that was really the only term I had commonly heard.
