So, You’re Having Twins… Discounts
You will soon find that twins are double the love, double the joy and double the dent in your pocketbook. But, we still love them.
While you do not have to have two of everything, there are certain things like car seats, for example, that you must have two of. Familiarize yourself with the discount policy at the stores near you. If they are not posted, DO NOT BE AFRAID TO ASK!
I know that Babies R Us (or at least the ones here in our neck of the woods) offers a discount. You must buy at least two of the exact same items at the same time that are each $100 or more and they will give you 10% off your purchase. I have not seen it posted anywhere in their store or anywhere online, but it does exist. They refer to it as the twin discount. This can really add up when you are purchasing car seats, cribs, highchairs, or bedding!
I love to shop at childrens resale stores as well. When you are checking out, especially when you are buying a substantial amount of items, ask if they offer a twin discount, or a discount for a large purchase. It never hurts to ask- all they can do is tell you no.
And, there are many twin communities/support groups, as others have mentioned on my site before, that are amazing for moms of multiples. I have never joined any of the groups, but I am told their annual yard sales are amazing! Talk about a great deal!
