Twin Tips- Let Them Be

Sharing is caring!

A few weeks back it was time to buy new shoes for the twins. Their old shoes were gross! Worn far too many times every single day without socks, they could clear a room when their shoes came off their feet. It was bad!
As we walked the shoe aisle I scanned quickly making sure I avoided the character shoes. For crying out loud, character shoes are just evil. They go with nothing!!
I grabbed the first pair of shoes (the silver and reds) and tried them on Nicky’s feet as he and his twin brother sat in the shopping cart.
Perfect fit.
I went to grab another pair to try on Luke’s feet and he gets serious.
‘Momma, is Nicky getting those? Those red ones? If he gets those red ones I don’t want red ones.’
I grabbed the blue and silver shoes.
‘You like these, Luke?’
‘Yap. Nicky is not getting these, right Momma?’
We have to remember they are two different people who like different things. Let them be. Let them choose things for themselves, within reason of course. Remember, they are their own little person- and that is cool!
