Baseball

Sharing is caring!

Baseball season is gearing up here in Texas. Yesterday we went to my nephews game.

This is my oldest brother’s son, Troy.

(Now, I am the oldest child, he is the second oldest child, but he is my oldest brother. Make sense?)

They are hardcore about their baseball.

Hi Troy.

Troy plays first base and is a sometimes catcher.

He means business.

When the other team hits the ball he takes that catchers hamlet off and lays eyes on the ball, generally chunking that helmet to the ground.

And then… he gets ’em out.

Did I mention he means business?

There is something about baseball that screams spring… and nostalgic chain- link- fence pictures.

People ask me what I do in winter when there’s no baseball.   I’ll tell you what I do.   I stare out the window and wait for spring.   ~Rogers Hornsby
