Real Easy Recipes: Grape Chili Chicken in the Crockpot

Sharing is caring!

Here is a delicious and simple recipe that is perfect as we get into back to school mode.

I have seen people take chili sauce and grape jelly and cook little smoked weenies or meatballs in it, but I wondered how it would taste on chicken.

Awesome!

I am going to show you exactly how to do it. While you’re here, check out all of our Chicken Recipes as you get ready for the busy season of the school year. I am thrilled to help you get dinner on the table for your family with practical ideas!

Ingredients:

  • 6 chicken breast, frozen is fine
  • 10 oz jar of grape jelly
  • 12 jar of chili sauce

Place your chicken breasts in the crockpot. I almost always put them in frozen.

Pour the jar of jelly evenly over the chicken.

Pour the jar of chili sauce over the chicken.

I use a spoon or a knife to spread everything out over the chicken if needed. As it cooks the two sauces will combine together well.

Cook on high for 6 hours or on low for 8-10 hours. The longer you cook it, the more tender the chicken will be and it will just fall apart.

Once the chicken is done I like to shred it up with a fork. I just keep it in the crockpot when I do this. When I am done I stir the sauce that is left in the crock all over the chicken.

Serve it over steamed rice. It is so good!

I like to serve this with roasted sweet potatoes and dinner rolls. A salad would be perfect too!

Have leftovers? Save it for tomorrow night and use it as a fun topping for a delicious pizza. Yum!

Or, serve it over nachos. Or over a salad. You get the idea, be creative.

You can also just freeze the leftovers and save it for a night that you need cooked chicken on hand.

  1. I seem to recall my mother doing a meatloaf thing with grape jelly. It was a bit odd, but weirdly good, as I might think this one might be! Always love finding new crock pot recipes!

  2. Oh how intriguing! This is certainly one to add to the crockpot list for fall. I would have never thought of using grape jelly in a savory dish! Also, you cook your meat from frozen in the crock pot? I’ve heard so much negativity about that–have you ever had any issue? I’m assuming not since you do it! Lol.
