A Break From the Texas Heat

We’ve had one of the hottest summers on record here in Texas this year.

I’ve lost count of how many days we’ve had above 100 degrees. Sixty-eight days, seventy-three days, does it really matter?

One day of temperatures over 100 is more than I want.

We had a handful of days that reaches 108, 109, 110. Again, does it really matter how many or the exact degree?

Hot is…. well, it’s hot.

But these last few weeks we’ve had 100 degree days and then a cool snap where it is in the 80’s or 90’s.

Oh, it has been nice.

And we took advantage of that yesterday taking the kids to a lovely eatery that offered indoor and outdoor eating.

And a playground.

We were living it up.

Soaking up the sun, Sheryl Crow style.

My three littlest boys really need haircuts, don’t they?

And this fella.

He has become such a ham.

Cheese, he says.
