Almost a Man?
Sometimes I look at him and wonder, how did this happen?
This.
He was just a baby.
He was.
I look at him and see the little boy who just the other day was playing with army guys in the livingroom floor.
Where does the time go?
Now, he is cheering for his favorite basketball team (the night the Mav’s won the championship) and wanting to hang with the guys.
Did I mention he was a baby in my arms just the other day?
And then I blinked.

Ok. I do not like posts like this. Not one little bit. Why? Because it makes me think about my almost 4 year old baby boy growing up in the blink of an eye & his little sisters on his tail! They grow up waaaay too fast for my liking! Honestly though, such a sweet post about your BABY boy!
Heather, I know. It is just mind boggling and heartbreaking all at the same time.
He looks more and more like a man every day, but in my heart he is still just a baby.
xoxo
I can’t believe my 4 year old is already 4!
don’t you hate blinking. I have done it 4 times and now they are all teens. I feel your pain!
blinking is defiantly hard on my heart. 😉
Prepare yourselves ladies. Blink to many times and then you see your sons and daughters as men and women. I did, and my twin babies are 44 years old. Just pray and hope they turn out to be good men and women. And that they marry someone that trully loves them. As they get older and seeing them hurt just breaks your heart and there is nothing you can do to take that pain away. Even now it hurts………
I think about 30 years from now all the time. It makes me sad and it makes me proud. It is so conflicting.
I read a quote once that raising children is like having your heart outside of your body. That just speaks to me. Really, it does.
Yikes, I know! Mine are all in their 20’s now!! How did that happen?!
I know how you feel! My daughter is 13 and I remember the day she was born like it was yesterday. My son will be 8 soon and I just can’t believe it. I can’t even think about the days when they’re out of the house.
Great post! I totally feel you my baby boys are 16 and 18….where did the time go??
Aww! I know my parents feel the same way since I’m 21 and will finish college next year. That means I will be moving out next year. They are having a hard time attempting to adjust to things.
and in a minute you will be at his high school graduation crying and wondering why time didnt stand still like you demaned it to.
For real Pam!
My oldest is only 6 and I feel like he was a newborn only a short time ago. The “baby” is all most 4. I watched my mom and her siblings at my grandparents side last week when my grandma had a heart attack. 1 child didn’t show up or even call since shes been in the hospital. I hope that in my time of need my boys don’t treat me the way my uncle as treated my grandparents. I always thought growing up would take its sweet slow time for me to get older and now I’m wishing for time to slow down.
They grow so fast. Enjoy every day.
