Are All Lady Bugs Ladies?

Sharing is caring!

kids questions

Nick is very inquisitive.

He has lots of interesting ideas and things to say.

He is smart and literal- I know I’ve said this before.

Recently he asked me a really sweet question. I found it to be pretty thoughtful.

Interesting questions generally are asked while we are in the car driving.

Nicky: Mom, are all lady bugs ladies?

Me: No, baby. There are boy lady bugs too.

Nicky: Boy lady bugs? Seriously, Mom?

Luke (he chimed into the conversation): Why don’t they call them boy bugs?

Me: Great question.

It is the sweet questions like this that make being a mom so meaningful and full of memories.

What is one of your favorite questions ever asked by one of your kids? It can be current day or from long ago. I would love to know.

  1. Hi Crystal, That is a very sweet question. This is more of a statement than a question. We were watching the Olsen twins (a long time ago) on Television and my daughter said something about how much alike they were. I said well they’re twins. At that both of my children said ‘no, they are girls’ in unison. My husband said yes, and they are twins. Once again both said no and finally our son said only boys can be twins. It shocked us so much that they both had that belief. But they had never met any ‘girl’ twins so they both thought twins were boys only! It took us a while to convince them too!!

    1. Ann, that is too sweet. It is really innocent how kids come up with some of their ideas. I could see my boys thinking they same thing….. since they are boy twins.

Thank you so much for sharing!

Ha ha nicely asked. I wanted to know the answer to same question till high school 🙂

    1. Brianna- it amazes me the questions and conversations they have.
I did just learn in the last couple of years that all lady bugs are not red. There are orange ones too! 😉
