Where does the time go?

At the top of each month (or a little later if the month has gotten away from me) I join Kelli of  3 Boys and a Dog  and take a look at my blog’s traffic. Who is reading my blog? Where is the traffic coming from? Which types of posts get the most traffic? What topics do my readers want to see more of?

Each month I like to thank the sites that send traffic my way. How are other sites sending traffic my way, you may wonder? 

1. I share almost all of my crafty tutorials, resources and solutions on different sites that offer link-ups or memes.
2. I have also worked hard to kick up my social media involvments, even joining a group where we promote each other’s articles on Twitter.
3. I try very hard to leave comments on at least five blogs per day. Make connections.
4. I have increased my networking with those in my niche.

 When I look at my analytics I can easily see who my top referring sites are.

Top 10 Referring Sites for April 2011

1. Skip to my Lou– sent 542 visitors to my site. Every Monday I link up and share my latest craft on her site and in turn, her readers hop over and check me out.
2. We are THAT Family–  sent 533 readers my way last month. Every Wednesday I share my latest tip or craft on her Works for me Wednesday link-up. I’ve been a long time reader over there- love her site!
3. Tip Junkie– sent me 388 visitors by participating in her Tip Me Tuesday link-up. You’ve gotta check her site out if you are searching for anything crafty!
4. Org Junkie– sent me 291 readers by sharing my weekly meal plan every Monday on her site. If you need tips on getting organized or long for meal planning inspiration, check her site out!
5. Today’s Creative Blog– referred 144 to my site. Awesome craft site- tons of ideas! She also has a weekly craft link-up where I share my tutorials.
6. Blue Cricket Design– sent 133 visitors my way. Another amazing craft site with a weekly Show and Tell to share your latest craft.
7. Hope Studios– referred 130 readers to my site. Love sharing my tips on her site!
8. Creative Party Place– sent 125 visitors over. Looking for a birthday party idea? This is the go-to site!
9. Tidy Mom– sent 81 people over. She has a link up on Friday’s where you share what you love.
10. House of Hepworths– sent 75 viewers to my site. Very crafty blog with a weekly link-up I look forward to participating in.

Social Media Referrals

1. Twitter– sent 66 people over to my site.
2. Facebook– referred 219 visitors over.  

I am working hard to connect over on Twitter, but Facebook still seems to be my realm. I hope you’re following me in both places.
