  • Card stock
  • Toy cars (like matchbox cars)
  • Small nail or screwdriver
  • Twine

How to Make this Car Valentine Printable

Print and cut out valentines.

With a small nail or screwdriver, poke two holes in the bottom-side of the valentine, in the “street”, one above the other about an inch apart.

Thread twine through each hole from back to front.

Place the toy car on top of the “street” and secure the cars to the cards in place with a bow tied in the twine.

Thin, loose twine worked perfectly, but washi tape would be good too.

Nice and easy, huh?! I love it, seriously. But before you race off to grab your card stock, lets talk about a few questions I’ve gotten about these.

Do you have to use Card Stock to Make this Car Valentine Printable?

No, you don’t HAVE to use card stock, so if you’re having trouble finding some, you can always just use regular printer paper to print this free valentine. It’s just not going to stand up to as much abuse as your kiddo takes their super cute Valentine cards to school.

So, yes, you can use printer paper. But do I recommend it for these free printable valentines? No.

We’re Out of Twine. Can We Use a Glue Stick?

Eh, no. I mean, yeah, you can, but a glue stick is not going to hold the car onto the Valentine card very well. So, if you’re out of twine, I recommend either hot glue, glue dots or some other stronger glue material.

I don’t however recommend that your kiddo be involved in putting any of these on the Valentines cards (well, maybe glue dots). Best idea is to search a little harder in the utility drawer for some twine for your printable valentine day cards to go with your toy cars.
