  • 1/4 c maple syrup
  • 1 c dark chocolate
  • 1/2 c white chocolate
  • food coloring (optional)
  • sprinkles (optional)

Directions for Making Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups

Place the peanut butter, coconut oil, and the maple syrup into a double boiler.

Use medium heat until everything is melted together using a whisk to make it smooth.

Grab muffin cups and line them with liners. Fill the cups 1/4th of the way full with the peanut butter mixture.

Pop them in the freezer for about half an hour or until they are solid.

After the peanut butter is hardened, use the double boiler to melt the dark chocolate.

Pour a layer of dark chocolate over the peanut butter base.

Pop them back in the freezer for about 30 minutes or until the chocolate is hard.

Once all the layers are hardened you can eat them as they are or top them with some colored melted chocolate to coordinate for a holiday or event.

Melt the white chocolate in the double boiler and add food coloring of your choice.

Drizzle the colored chocolate over peanut butter cups and add sprinkles.

Put the peanut butter cups back into the freezer or refrigerator until hard.
