Elf on the Shelf: He Travels

Sharing is caring!

What has your Elf on the Shelf been up to?

We traveled to San Antonio to spend some time with Grandma and Grandpa Lopez (my in-laws) before Christmas. I have had some issues transferring photos, so I have some catching up to do.

When we arrived in San Antonio, guess what my children found when they opened their suitcase?

Our Elf is a traveling guy.

He did not want to be without us.

There he was on top of the kids’ clothes.

  1. This is such a cute idea! I am curious what do you tell them when he has to be moved before the end of the day? Such as moving him to get to the clothes?

  2. Tammy Stanley says:

Our elf has travelled with us as we are often away at Christmas. The first year, he knew we were going away so he improvised a seatbelt and sat in the old phone charger dock watching the kids in the back seat the whole way, then found places to hide at Grandma’s.
This year, he came travelling again but preferred to see the view – out the front windscreen on Day 1 and the back window on Day 2. He might not be able to see the kids, but he has excellent hearing! Then he found a few spots in the tent to hide as we were camping (not very many places out of reach and it has to be when all confined in a small space!) It is also tricky to remember to move him when you need to climb over sleeping kids to do so…
Thanks for the extra inspiration for years to come!
