We are doing 30 days of Elf on the Shelf ideas at my house. Today’s idea is very simple.
Let him play Elf hide and seek!
Here is how we did it one year.

You Every Day
Just tuck your elf away in the branches of the Christmas tree.
He will blend right in with the rest of your ornaments.
The kids will spend hours looking for him.
You might have to give him clues.
Can you see him in there? He blends right in, doesn’t he?
Here is a picture of him hiding in our tree years ago, back in 2012!
This particular year it took my boys forever to find him.
So much fun!
How Do You Play Elf on the Shelf Hide and Seek?
Since Elf hides somewhere new each day, let him hide in the Christmas tree.
He hides and the kids seek him.
What is so Special About Elf on the Shelf?
It is a fun holiday tradition that families look forward to each year as they anticipate his arrival and his daily trips back to the North Pole to report good and bad behavior.
What Age Do You Stop Elf on the Shelf
This is totally up to you. As my kids become teenagers, they have a great time helping me find new ways to move and hide the elf for their little siblings.
We havent started this tradition yet…but I think its lots of fun!
Melissa- it is not too late to start this year and then carry it on for next year.
We are having so much fun with it!
