Embellished Clothespin Magnets- Teacher Appreciation Gift
Simple.
Affordable.
Lovely.
DIY.
Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week and I’ve got a few crafty AND budget friendly projects up my sleeve that you can make for your little one’s teacher!
Aren’t these magnets just rockin’? These are very playful and fun. Perfect for a preschool, Mother’s Day Out or elementary school teacher. (I also have a more feminine and girly version I will share later.) It is truly amazing the crafts you can create with scrapbook supplies, which is exactly what I have done here.
You will need:
- 1 sheet of scrapbook paper- there are many themed papers available. For this version I chose a preschool themed sheet.
- clothespins
- Mod Podge
- sponge brush for applying Mod Podge
- 1 small magnet for each clothespin
- hot glue gun
- scissors
- scrapbook embellishment aliened with your theme (I used school related embellishments: pencil, apple, bus, etc.)
How to Make Clothespin Magnets:
Trace and outline of your clothespins on the scrapbook paper.
Carefully cut your tracings out with scissors.
Pour up some Mod Podge and dip your sponge brush in it.
Apply a layer of Mod Podge to the surface of the clothespin.
Place one of your scrapbook tracings on top of the Mod Podge covered clothespin and apply a layer of Mod Podge over the scrapbook paper.
Allow it to dry 100% (thirty minutes to an hour). The Mod Podge will dry clear, although you can purchase Mod Podge that is shimmery, glossy, matte, opaque., etc.
Once dry, use your hot glue gun to apply a small magnet to the back side of the clothespin.
Gather your embellishments.
Apply your embellishment to the front of the clothespin using your hot glue gun.

And your all done! What teacher would not love to receive a set of these fun handmade magnets? Easy to make, hua? Gift bag them up with some tissue paper and your teacher will be ever so grateful.

What a fun teacher gift! I’ve been brainstorming over what to give my kids’ teachers. They’re both men! Food probably! Thanks so much for sharing! 🙂
These are so cute. What teacher wouldn’t love to get one of these. These would make a great gift for mom to, just change the theme. Great to hang art from on your refrigerator. Thanks for sharing.
