Fall Activities for Kids: Pumpkin Bowling

Sharing is caring!

The calendar says its getting closer to being fall but the weather outside is still holding steady.  We have had some very hot days and we are definitely ready for cooler temperatures!

When it cools down we will be able to hang outside for longer periods of time and do fun activities for kids.

Right now, we go outside for about 30 minutes and the kids come back inside beat red and ready for a drink.  So I have to find quick activities for the kids to do while outside.

Pumpkin bowling is just that activity!  Its easy, quick and allows the kids to run off some energy out doors. Fall Activities for Kids: Pumpkin Bowling

You only need two things to do some pumpkin bowling – pumpkins and a ball.

We just fake pumpkins that I had around the house but real ones would work out just as well.  We also used a medium bouncy ball as our bowling ball.

We set up the pumpkins on the ground and then I let the kids try and knock them all over.

They had to roll, kick and bounce the ball in order to knock the pumpkins down!

My two year sat real close and rolled the ball as hard as he could to knock them over.  My daughter bounced and kicked it towards the pumpkins.  They had a blast!

Once the pumpkins were out of their formation the kids took that as their sign to go hide them and have a pumpkin hunt.

I thought it was so funny to watch them go hide their pumpkins from each other around the yard.

They ran so much that my daughter came up to me and said ‘Mommy lets go inside, I’m hot!’  I think that’s a sure sign that pumpkin bowling was a hit!
