Five Years Ago Today

Sharing is caring!

Five years ago today, we reported to the labor and delivery unit at 6:30 am (ok, we were probably a little late) to welcome our sweet twin boys.

We were soon surrounded by family and I was then wheeled back to the operating room where there was double the staff for double the new arrivals. At 9:53 we welcomed Nicholas and at 9:54 we welcomed Luke.

The rest is history.

There have been very difficult days and there have been exciting days filled with a lifetime of memories. They are two very different and very precious little boys who have certainly blessed our lives.

Reaching the five year mark is bittersweet. You’re happy they are growing, thriving and healthy, but there is the sadness of your babies growing up.

So this morning I ask them what have they learned in the last five years?
Nick says:  I’ve learned to listen. I’ve learned that Santa brings you toys. I’ve learned to be good. I’ve learned to be nice to people and to love people.
Luke says: Ummmm, actually nothing.
Happy 5th Birthday Nicholas and Luke!
