Giving Back to the Community with All You #AllYouCFK

Sharing is caring!

Kids in our community hold a very dear place in my heart. When Garrett started Kindergarten, seven years ago,  I knew our local PTA was an organization I wanted to be a part of. I became a part of the executive board and gave as much of my time as I could. Before I knew it, I was the President of our PTA. If I could make a positive impact in one child’s’ life, my mission was accomplished. And, let me say, the impact of someone caring in a child’s life means more than we know. The simplicity of a kite from the dollar store can make a child feel so special and so important.

Although my PTA days are currently at a halt due to our super busy lives, when I was given the opportunity to work with All You magazine and shop at our local Walmart and give to a local charity, I was thrilled.

Right now Walmart has an abundance of Easter goodies on their shelves. These goodies make perfect basket stuffers, but they also make the perfect gift that will make a child feel so special. There are aisles and aisles of things that will make a child feel special for less than a $1.

Lenny and I went on a date night and shopped for an organization I’ve wanted to get involved with for a long time- The Ronald McDonald House. I know many families who have benefited from their services.

We struggled choosing items.

My husband was torn and wanted to make an Easter basket for every child and family that would be going through the Ronald McDonald House.

We grabbed our copy of All You magazine on our trip. Two things were in this magazine that I loved- coupons ($78.74 in this edition alone) and recipes. You know how much I am a a fan of easy recipes and there are lots of excellent Easter recipe ideas in this months issue.

Here is the awesome thing, anyone can be a part of this Couponing for Good campaign with All You! Read stories from families across America and see what they are doing to make a difference.   You can also follow each journey over on their Champions For Kids Facebook page as well as on Twitter under the handle @champions4kids. You can also follow the hashtag #AllYouCFK on Twitter to see up to the minute conversations!

Want to see more of my shopping trip? It is documented in photos over on Google+.

This shop has been part of a social shopper insights study for Collective Bias.   All opinions stated are my own. #CBias

I am SO excited that you gave to RMH! We’ve stayed there multiple times with our heart kiddo, and that’s my favorite charity to give to. I love how CFK helps inspire giving in your community. I know they loved it!
