Healthy Breakfast: A Protein Packed Start To Your Day With #SilkFruit

About a month ago my sister told me about a new product by Silk that is kind of like a smoothy and high in protein. She really likes it and has incorporated it into her diet routine.
This past week I went on a mission to find this product. We all know breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and I am always looking for new easy breakfast ideas that are healthy and something my kids will enjoy. I purchased the Mango Peach and Mixed Berry flavors.
The day I brought it home, the Mango Peach container was opened and devoured before the end of the night. My husband was the main culprit.
I wanted to see how my kids would like the Mixed Berry flavor as an easy breakfast option. I also thought cheese toast would be an easy pairing.
Have you ever made cheese toast? Super easy and my kids gobble it up.
Luke LOVES shakes, smoothies, yogurt and all things fruity. Sometimes it can be a challenge to get him to eat before I take him to Mother’s Day Out. I was excited to see how much he would like this new breakfast option as a solution for those mornings when I cannot get him to eat a thing.
He was most excited to try it for breakfast. He calls it his yogurt drink.
(He always says God is good, God is great, let us thank him for our food- Amen. Love this kid!)
Of course he gobbled up the cheese toast he helped me make.
Then he drank every last drop of his Silk protein drink.
Then he asked for more.
This is an excellent mommy solution. It gets two thumbs up at our house!

What are some healthy breakfast ideas that you have up your sleeve? Are you kids good breakfast eaters?

Thanks Crystal for this information. I too am always looking for higher protein options for the kids’ breakfast because they are not big eaters in the morning. I can’t wait to pick this up for them 🙂
Awesome, Lisa. Let me know which flavor you guys like best.
This meal sounds very good! I need to try the Silk Fruit and Protein!
Melissa- my boys love cheese toast and the protein drink just adds even more heartiness to the meal. Sticks to their rubs, so to speak. 🙂
I need to try these one for my kids. They are not eating every morning.I think this is for them.
Justin- my kids go through phases (especially one of my 6 year olds) where it is a challenge to get him to eat breakfast. He really likes the Silk Fruit & Protein- Mixed Berry was his favorite. My husband loved the Peach Mango. Let me know which one you guys try. 🙂
I am always in a hurry from breakfast and sometimes, I even forget it… But this looks really perfect for breakfast with the whole family…
Crysstal- it is a perfect on the go breakfast.
I make my own smoothies at home using real fruit and I am very reluctant to try store and restaurant bought ones, because they usually taste way too sweet (even from upscale “healthy” smoothie places) and just never taste like they’ve been made with real fruit. I’m always looking for something quick for the morning (it’s rare, very very rare, that I’d have the energy in the morning to actually MAKE a real smoothie) so if this isn’t very sweet I might give it a try? I like this brand for their coconut milk, but have no tried any of their other products.
Amanda- my oldest had some milk intolerance when he was little (along with asthma). We used Silk Soy Milk with him from about 2 years until he was about 5.
I agree, smoothies can get too sugary and then what is the point. They are expensive in the smoothie shops. We’ve gone through phases where we make them at home, but they can be time consuming.
Let me know which flavor you try and/or which is your favorite.
What a great way to get extra protein into the kids diet!
Cheese toast and silk sounds like the perfect breakfast. thanks for sharing.
