Here, There and Everywhere
The twins really are funny little guys. They crack me up a lot.
But today, as we celebrate the greatness of Spring Break, which completely unaffected the twins as they are not in school, but affects me 100%, in a positive way, we were off to run 500 errands. A lot like that song ‘But I would walk 500 miles, and I would walk 500 more, just to be the man who walks 500 miles, to fall down at your door…’ but instead it was 500 errands and not miles.
Yes, I digress.
My point is, by 4:00 pm today Nick, Luke and Matthew had reached their maximum errand load. And I had as well, but Old Navy was right there.
And they always have $5 St. Patrick’s Day t-shirts. (NOT!)
So, we went in.
We had filled our day with errands from the Park and Recreation office, (to reserve a pavilion for Matthew’s upcoming first birthday, sniff, sniff) then to McDonald’s to run off some steam, then to the craft store, then to Old Navy. It was at the craft store I had this amazing revelation. It is so much easier to push a stroller and pull the shopping buggy with two heavy 4 yr olds in it, than it is to push the shopping buggy and pull the stroller. Maneuvering all of that in the craft store always is a beating. Always.
Hypothetically, I should be able to let the twins walk through that store and just push Matthew in the stroller, but with all the fun things they can get their hands on, I do NOT dare!
And my two big helpers (Garrett and Anthony) are gone for the week to celebrate Spring Break. Garrett is visiting his father and Anthony is visiting Grandma and Grandpa in San Antonio, so no helping hands at all.
Now, back to Old Navy.
Let me start by saying, unfortunately, they did not have shopping carts at this Old Navy location.
Not good.
So the twins were exhausted by the time we arrived. And their behavior was at a very mischievous and curious level. As I am sorting through the small stack of ‘leftover’ St. Patrick Day t-shirts, I see my two boys are now out of my reach and on foot.
Never ever a good thing. Never!
But in this case they were entertaining themselves. And I could not help but laugh!
You know the Old Navy Supermodelquins, right? Well, I never realized, until today, just how fascinating they must be to children. I could not catch a picture of Nick quick enough, but you see the picture at the top of this post with Luke and the Old Navy dog?
Talking to it.
Petting it.
Touching it’s teeth, which was so funny because you know children every where have always wanted to touch a dogs teeth but would never dare to do it for fear of being bitten. So, when you see a fake, life size dog, you touch it’s teeth, of course.
Then, you play Where Is Waldo in the Supermodelquins!
Luke really was impressed with the tall fake people. They just stood there as he stared at them and pulled on their clothes.
And then Nick pretended to be a Supermodelquin himself.
Then, there is this picture. Nick just sweetly pretending to be a Supermodelquin and Luke… well, I suppose that if you should find a life size dog, that does not move, and will not bite, you would mess with it’s tail, too? Maybe? If you were a 4 year old boy? For the love of Pete!
And finally. As I search desperately through the clearance racks in the back of the boys clothing section, and sweet baby Matthew sleeps peacefully in his stroller, the twins are wild, barbaric, cave children.
Wild I tell you!
They pulled the pants down on one of the Supermodelquins in the back of the store (yes, they got in lots of trouble for that and I could not dare take a picture of it!) and in the mist of running in the clothes racks, they find these hats. Nick had already taken his off at this point, but Luke was up for a picture.
Girly hats no less.
And for all of the shoppers we offended today, please forgive us!
