How to Make Star Wars Lightsaber Balloons
There is something about a balloon that brings a smile to every child’s face.
Have you ever noticed?
It’s like this amazing surprise that just lights up their eyes.
What better way to create an even more amazing smile, than to turn a balloon into a light saber!?
Did you know you can create helium balloons at home? Indeed, you can!
We brought home this Balloon Time tank and started creating.
These are perfect for birthday celebrations, baby showers, or just because.
And this sweet guy…. let me just tell you, he is crazy excited about any balloon he can get his hands on.
The simplest and smallest things light up his face and this just melts my heart!
It’s like Christmas in July.
So here is what we did to make these balloon lightsabers. We created birthday invitations out of them, but you can certainly use them as party favors, or have a contest with your birthday party friends and see who can create a light saber the fastest.
Supplies Needed:
- Balloon Time helium tank
- free Star Wars printable
- curly ribbon
- scissors
- hole punch
- shaping balloons
In the video we show you just how easy it is to make these lightsabers step by step.
Then we print out the Star Wars invitation and fill it out.
Use the hole puncher to make a hole and then insert the curly ribbon.
Tie the curly ribbon around your balloon.
How spectacular is that? Any Star Wars friend would love to get an invitation like this.
We also show you in the video how easy it is to make a lightsaber holder for kids. My boys loved creating things with the balloons. It is a great way to encourage creativity and an opportunity to learn about helium and work in some science!
My kids like to hit each other in the head so this is right on time because now they can go crazy with the balloons. Much safer and fun to do as a family!
This is such a cute idea! My kids love balloons so I’ll definitely let them make some lightsaber balloons. This will be a great idea for my son’s birthday party too – he loves Star Wars and already said he wants that as his party theme.
How cute and clever is that. My friend Ellen babysits for three 10-year-old triplets and I am sharing this with her. I know the kids are into Star Wars, so this is a perfect summer fun activity to do and play!
star wars fan? hell yeah! my kids? not so much. But what they like the most is fighting amongst themselves. This will be a fun and safe way of letting them have their fun.
I love this! I’m in a house full of Star Wars lovers, they would have so much fun with the balloon light sabers. It amazes me how much fun kids have with balloons.
What a great idea! This is a much safer idea than plastic light sabers 🙂
I love this idea. It would make a great party favor too! Thanks for sharing with us at Family Joy Blog Link Up Party this week. Hope to see you next week!
Nice Share! Surely my kids are gonna have a lot of fun.
