I Have New Bed Envy

Two of my sister-in-laws just purchased new bedroom furniture, and I have envy. I do.

I have never had new furniture in my bedroom, but love to look at it and pretend I am shopping for it. There has always been something else that needs to be purchased and a new bed has just never made it to the top of the list. You understand, right?

Personally, I love canopy beds. There is something very feminine and romantic about them and I think if I had one I would just lye in bed all day long. This would lead to a desire to read books in bed all day and likely result in asking my children to fetch me things all day long as I enjoy my beautiful canopy bed. This would be great for me, but not so great for everyone else in my house.

What about you?  Have you ever indulged in brand new bedroom furniture? Did you shop in a physical store or did you opt for an online experience and take advantage of the  tons of discount bedroom furniture options in cyberspace? 

What style of bed furniture suits your fancy? Do you lean towards something edgy and eccentric, like a round bed, or do you stick with a more traditional style like a Classic Sleigh Bed frame? 

What kind of finish do you like?  Ten years ago I would have totally gone with a distressed shabby chic look. Today, I am more into espresso finishes, mostly because the color of dirt or mud is ideal when raising a basketball team of boys.
