Irving Arts Center- Genghis Khan
I took the twins to the Irving Arts Center to see the Genghis Khan exhibit.
Have you ever been to the Irving Arts Center? It is a really nice facility. Until this event, I had no idea there was an art center in Irving.
There were no camera allowed beyond these doors, but the artifacts and education inside was amazing.
Because there are real artifacts that must be preserved, the temperatures are very cold. Even for a 104 hot summer day. They offer blankets and jackets to keep you warm.
One of our favorite discoveries in the exhibit was the real mummy. It is in a nook that is out of the way. If you do not want your children to see it, you can certainly go right past the area without them laying eyes on the mummy. Â My boys were excited to see it and the questions were many.
We loved the life-size warriors on their horses and in armor. Â We were mesmerized by the wooden launcher and my boys imagined what it would be like to grow up in the days of Genghis Khan.
When we were done with the tour, which took about an hour, we landed in a gift store area that had the funnest sandbox with pretend artifacts. My boys closed the gift shop down digging and digging until they were locking the doors.
We had fun!
And shoes full of sand.
You can enjoy the fun too! Check out the Khan exhibit details and head to Irving.
