Itchy

Sharing is caring!

Oh, my little Nicky.

Tonight I tried to make a quick get away out the door after Lenny was home. I needed to make a run to Target and the idea of peace and quiet was nice.

Nick had other plans.

If he is awake, I can rarely get out the door without him. Crazy four year old!

By this time they should all be in bed, but our schedules and routines do take turns at slipping!

Nick sees me grab my keys and before I can make it to the door he wants to know where I am going.

Ugh….

Ensuring him I will be right back never works. He has his shoes on before I even finish my statement.

So, my trip to Target all alone is now accompanied by a four year old.

It is kind of fun sometimes to pretend for an hour that you only have one child. You can answer all of his questions. No interruptions. No short fusses. He talks, I talk. We talk to each other. No stressed out Mommy.

Then.

Then, we are on the Easter aisle. An employee is restocking the shelves. It is nearing closing time and you could hear a pin drop on the other side of the store.

About this time Nick feels it is very important I know something.

Mr. Matter of Fact says in his outside voice, “Mommy, my butt don’t itch no more.”

Well, everyone at Target will sleep so much better tonight. And apparently Nick will, too!

Welcome to my life. Take your coat off. Stay a while.
