Matthew’s Life in Photographs

Sharing is caring!

Gosh, I love this little guy.

He is just absolutely adorable.

Thank you God! I really thank you.

Sometimes our greatest gifts really are surprises!

I started this post a month ago to share with you Matthew’s 6 month stats and achievements.

Where does the time go? He will be 7 months on Saturday.

Yes, 7 months.

His stats at his 6 mth check-up were:
Weight: 20.14 (95th %tile)
Length: 26.5 inches (50th %tile)

What is Matthew doing you may wonder?

This time last month if you sat him up he would stay…. just like this.

Now, he gets there all by himself… even from the lying down position. (Ignore the clothes that someone left on the recliner in the background. Their momma called in sick that day and they forgot they needed to pick up after themselves.)

This time last month he would get up on all fours and rock when you put him on his tummy.

Now, he is crawling! For reals!

Still no teeth, but totally working on it! Everything goes in his mouth.

He pulls up to things and stands all by himself. (This is a pic in our home office/catch-all-room. Lots of stacking going on as you can see in the background. Ignore the stacks… it really is organized thanks to my friend Kim’s help!)

We started rice cereal at 6 months.

He is now eating rice cereal mixed with pears, apples, sweet potatoes or peas. (Peas honestly disgust him… he gags. We have tried them twice now. I think the thickness disturbs him, even though I thin them down with the milk and cereal. For the record, Daddy hates peas as well! Darn genetics.)

He loves to sit in highchairs at restaurants now. The first time he sat in one it was heartbreaking…. he is supposed to be a baby forever, right? (I am starting to understand more and more why the baby of the family grows up to be\”¦. well, the baby of the family. The mother is to blame. Totally! But in defense of moms everywhere, they are our babies and we just want to keep them close forever! )

He loves to laugh and smile.

He loves Mommy! (Ok, and everyone else, but he really loves his Mommy!)

And in Mommy’s honor, his first tattoo says…

Somehow he understands that it is eat or be eaten around here- much like Mother Nature. (Our home resembles a jungle more and more every passing day.)It is easy to be over-shadowed by those bigger than you and someone else is always looking for their five minutes of fame! (HELLO!! You’re gonna knock the baby over!)

In turn, he loves to yell… always sure to be heard!

We all just adore and love him.

Matthew, I’ve said it before and I will say it again. You were the perfect addition to our family! God’s plans are always bigger than we will ever understand.

My 7 Favorite Baby Items Right Now Are:

1. My Chicco Stoller! Pregnant or just had a baby? Get one! Turns on a dime. Even my three year olds can push it and turn it. (Not that they DO, but they CAN.)And, you can seriously open it one handed… I have done it. Very easy to use. Love!

2. Earth’s Best Organic Rice Baby Cereal. And Matthew hearts it too!

3. Sleepers. Any and all cute sleepers. Can you tell from his pics? We have battled really severe eczema with Matthew since he was 2 months old, so he has essentially lived in sleeps (to keep him from scratching) for the last 4 months. And Target has really adorable ones priced just right.

4. Hylands Teething Tablets!

5. Sophie the Giraffe. She is adorable and made from natural rubber and food paint. Super safe for a teething baby.

6. Aquaphor!!! This stuff is like axle grease, but it essential for a baby with severe eczema. Aquaphor has been a life saver. This partnered with the ointments prescribed by the dermatologist are essential every single day! If you child has any dry skin issues, I swear by this product. Apply it over and over again throughout the day. We buy it by the tub!

7. Annabel Karmel’s Superfood For Babies Book. I love her! And she has a great schedule listed for multiple age groups when introducing foods. I am all about schedules these days. Love it!!!! I used one of her books as well with the twins. Great advice, factual information and lots or baby food recipes! You can’t go wrong with her stuff!
