Mommy Gets a Break

Sharing is caring!

Now what?

This is absolutely ridiculous!

I find myself, in the mist of the countless crazy days, just begging for a break.

A small break.

Just a few hours break.

Just give me a couple of minutes to collect my thoughts and would you stop beating on the bathroom door break!?

And here I sit.

I just finished attending a conference.

I am back in the silent empty hotel room.

I have absolutely no idea what to do with myself.

No one climbing on me as I try to type.

No one screaming and fighting over a Spiderman toy in the next room.

No one putting on their best dramatic performance for all of my attention.

No one chomping at the bit with 15,000 questions.

No one spilling apple juice on my freshly mopped floor.

Just me and a quiet room and I am unsure.

I’ve been living for this moment for 4 years, 9 months and some odd days- and I have absolutely no idea what to do with myself… the life of a mom!

Maybe I just lack being content?

Or, maybe being content is an art?

Are you content?

  1. I would LOVE a time out right now. The 19 month old who was "asleep" is not asleep anymore and the 3.5 year old is taking forever to get ready for bed!!!

It was so good to meet you at Bloggy Boot Camp! How did I miss that you're up here in DFW though? Did you get a chance to talk to Erin from Hello, Splendor? She's hosting a party for DFW bloggers on the 4th of November up in McKinney and Wyletter from Through Her Eyes and I are hoping to make it up there-you should go too! I would love to connect with you again 🙂

You site is gorgeous and I have loved reading all the multiples stories. Coming from a family with multiple sets of twins on both sides, it's always fun to read other mom's perspectives. I loved this post in particular, mainly because it hits home with all moms.

Take care and we'll talk soon!

I can't be content without my kids …. no matter how tired they make me. 🙂

  4. Priscilla- you nailed it! As much as I always need a break, they are my contentment.

Thanks for the free therapy! 🙂
