Mommy, May I Have This?
He comes barreling around the corner with a surprise behind his back.
Still in his jammy shirt and Spiderman boxers he is prepared that this will likely take some bartering.
Maybe begging.
His jammy shirt, might I add, has chicken nugget sauce all over it from our late lunch and remnants from a craft using blue marker . It was a lazy day.
‘Cause I am mom of the year, ya know.
N: Mommy, may I have this?
M: Um, have what? I do not see anything.
N: Well, you might say no and you might say yes. But I really want it.
M: Nicky, what is it?
N: It is something. Something that tastes good. Something I want.
M: Is it behind your back? Let me see. I can not tell you yes or no until I see it.
N: It is white and blue and chocolate. Will you say yes, Mommy?
At this point I am pretty sure I know what it is. This is not our first time to play this game, you see.
Finally he shows me.
It was a chocolate ice cream in a blue and white package.
I guess he became a little guilty as he began to open the ice cream before asking.
Did I mention I am NOT mom of the year?
