Nutrisystem Update- Week 13 Results

Sharing is caring!

Have you ever fallen off the wagon? Not on purpose. Not because you did not like something. Fallen off simply because you fail to keep your goals at the forefront?

Have I mentioned, digital scales do not like toddlers. Maybe I should say digital scales do not like being carried around by toddlers.

About three weeks ago my newest digital scale stopped working and would give me an error code every time I stepped on it. Initially, it was kinda nice. I stopped focusing on my weight each day. I stopped weighing myself when I got out of bed, after I ate lunch, before bedtime, etc. When you weigh yourself over and over again, it can be very discouraging. You feel like it is taking forever for the numbers on the scales to change.

While at first it was nice to take some of the pressure off myself, soon one week without scales turned into two weeks without scales. Two weeks turned into three. I just could not walk back into Target with a broken scale in my hand, for the second time since the last week of January.

As each week without scales passed, I slowly started skipping my Nutrisystem lunch entrée. For breakfast I would just grab a hard-boiled egg and an apple with peanut butter. I slowly found myself being less accountable.

Then I got scared. I thought all of this work so far is going to be for nothing. I bet I’ve gained weight, I thought. I kinda freaked out and made a b-line to Target and got a new digital scale. And you know what? I maintained my weight, even losing a little over a pound.

Even though I got off track, even though I had not been following my plan perfectly, I was still implementing moderation and ensuring that my body was getting plenty of protein and fresh fruits and vegetables. I was still following their guidelines, without even thinking about it. Acknowledging limits and boundaries.

If Nutrisystem is something that you’ve been considering, know that it works. Know it is a commitment, and sometimes we fall a little short, but if the mindset is there, you will achieve goals and create a better lifestyle. And I am burning about 280-300 calories every time we go to the track and jog/walk- so that rocks!
