Under the Sea Books Kids Will Love (and Parents too!)

Sharing is caring!

I have heard from many of you that you or your kids struggle with reading time. Rather kids are reading independently or you are enjoying read a loud time, there is an opportunity for growth and learning.

Right now we are reading about all things that are under the sea. This is a great way to get kids interested in all of the wonder the ocean has to offer!

We love doing and learning new things about the ecosystems, organisms, and sea life that make up the great big blue. Along with activities our kids love to read! Here are some excellent finds for books that even the youngest of readers can enjoy!

  1. My kids used to love to read about the ocean with me. Now that they’re older, a couple of my kids still love to read about ocean life.

  2. All of these sound like great books. These are the types of books that my daughters enjoy too. Reading about the ocean is always fun for them.

  3. These all sound like great books. My kids love to read. I’ve been reading to them since they were born.

  4. These sound like great books for the little ones. Our two little girls love to read. I want to get them these books.

  5. These look like some great sea books!! These would be perfect for any kids going to the beach this summer!!

  6. The books and the color pages are awesome. My grand daughter would love these. She loves drawing and coloring so I know the Under The Sea activity pages will make her very happy. Pretty soon, she’ll be asking me to get her a new box of crayons.

  7. These sound like such great books! I loved reading books as a little girl and I especially loved the I Spy series – mostly in the summer because it was so fun to do by the pool! I love this list, I’ll have to share it with my SIL so she can get some of these for my nieces!

  8. Ann Bacciaglia says:

I love to give books as gifts. It is so important to encourage our kids to read.

  9. My daughter loved the book “The Rainbow Fish” when she was little. We used to do so many under the sea art projects focused around that book.

  10. I’m always looking for more books about the ocean to read to my grandsons, especially since they love to go to the beach in the summer. Thanks for providing this list. I’ll have to see which ones I can get at the library and maybe purchase a few too.

  11. maggie branch says:

This sounds like the perfect book for summer time. I agree that it would be interesting for mom and dad too.

  12. What a great list! We recently got a Shine-A-Light book from an Usborne book party called Secrets of the Seashore. You use a flashlight behind each page to learn about what is hiding in the tide pool. It is really cool and my kids love it! Thank you for sharing on Family Joy Blog Link-up Party. Hope you are having a great week!

  13. It’s always so fun to get great ideas about books – as a Grandma, I feel a bit out of touch with what the kids would like so it’s nice to get up to speed.

Thanks much for coming to Throwback Thursday and sharing!! 🙂

  14. Crystal, LOVE this post. I’ve bought lots of ocean books for my granddaughter. I think I love them more than she does. Featured and pinned. Your friend, Linda
