Our Fun Day at the Park

Sharing is caring!

This afternoon I was determined to get Matthew down for an afternoon nap.

He has not been sleeping well at night for a week or so and he’s been skipping naps, etc.

Teething maybe?

Not sure.

But today he was taking a nap no matter what. I was determined!

So, I got him down for a nap and left him home alone and took the twins to the park.

Oh, what a lovely time we had.

JUST KIDDING!

Ok, I am TOTALLY KIDDING!

Put your phones down, no need to call 9-1-1.

Don’t get mad. Keep reading.

So, I am putting Matthew down for his nap.

Just when he drifted off to sleep- you know that point where you can now go on and do the things you need to do with no fear that he will wake up when you leave the room- the twins come barreling through my bedroom, yelling and screaming and jump up on my bed pleading their cases to me about who did who wrong and who should get in trouble.

Matthew promptly popped his head up.

Nap time was officially over.

No matter how much I patted him, there was no getting him back to sleep.

The twins clearly had some energy to get rid of.

Why not go to the park? It was a perfect 77 degree day!

So I packed us up and off to the park we went.

We had so much fun! There were no other kids there so we could play on anything.

Grandma and Grandpa Lopez, doesn’t this make you want to move up here….. sooner?

Matthew so excited as we arrive at the park:

His first time in a swing (well, a non-baby swing). Oh, how exciting! Ready, set…

Go! I really did not swing him as high as it looks. It is totally the angle of the camera. He LOVED it!

Fun!

Then it was Nicky’s turn. He wanted in a swing like Baby Matthew. Thank goodness there were two of them.

He is our silly child. Can you tell?

He has not an ounce of fear!

Now it was Luke’s turn and he wanted to be a BIG BIG boy on the BIG BIG swing!

Look at him go! (I had to push him of course.)

Lenny, there is no denying this child. He is you through and through!

Then, my camera ran out of battery.

We had so much fun. The twins talked about it all evening long. They want to go back tomorrow.

Why is it I have been home with kids for almost 4 years and we rarely take the time to go to the park during the middle of the day?

We never take advantage of half priced day at the zoo.

We hardly ever have picnics.

There are always errands to run.

Checks to mark off my list.

Phones to answer.

We get wrapped up in life.

Today was fun. I am so glad we did it. It was nice to get some fresh air.

You should try it sometime.

Call in sick tomorrow and take your kids to the park.

Your kids will thank you.

Mine did.
