For most families he leaves on Christmas Eve, but he can stay as long as you want. Some families like for him to stay the entire month of December.
Can You Touch the Elf on Christmas Eve
That is up to you. If you are following along with the book that comes with your Elf it tells you that if you touch the Elf he will lose his magic and won’t fly back to the North Pole.
But, it’s your family and you house. You can make your rules.
At our house Mom and Dad are allowed to touch elf.
Some families have a rule where anyone can touch the elf on Christmas Eve.
Where Do You Store The Elf
I store him in the box he came in with our Christmas ornaments in the attic until Thanksgiving night.
