Easy Chocolate Play Dough (3 Ingredients)
If you are on the hunt for another recipe for play dough and one that requires no cooking, no cream of tartar and smell amazing, this one is for you!
This play dough has the softest feel to it. It is so smooth and smells amazing.
There is limited work involved and it is easy enough that your kids can help make it.
The best part- there are only three ingredients! Things you likely already have on hand. You’ll never guess what two of these items are. Ready for it?
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cup corn starch
- 1 cup hair conditioner
- 1/2 cup cocoa powered
That is it, just three simple ingredients.
I had no idea until recently that conditioner could be used as an ingredient in homemade play dough! And, I love that does not call for cream of tartar because I had none on hand!
Add the these items to a large mixing bowl.
Stir until everything starts to combine.
Then, use your hands to form.
It is smooth and cold and the neatest texture.
It has almost like a foam feel to it. Super cool!
And it smells amazing!
Use an ice cream scoop and scoop it up into cones or bowls. Your kids will be amazed!
Let your little ones play and play.
Another thing I love is that it does not air out easily. We left it out on the table for a long time and it was fine.
Do store it in an air tight container when you’re done playing with it.
Use it to create and build many things.
I even enjoyed playing with it. The smell is mesmerizing.
(Obviously since it has conditioner in it this play dough is NOT edible!)

I know this is way after the fact, but I found this recipe and made it for my daughter, but the playdough went moldy within a week. Anyone else have this problem?
Was it in the summertime? I think a cool dry air tight storage place is best. I am so sorry this happened.
Hi, coud I substitute hair conditioner for oil? The age group I work with is 2-5 and a lot of them put whatever the messy play that day is in their mouths!
You can try it, but I don’t think it will work. Let me know if you try it.
