Printable Color Flash Card Flip Book

Sharing is caring!

We love flip books at our house and they make learning fun!

Are you looking for ways to teach colors to kids? Using a flip book is an awesome way to do this.

I created this printable to help make learning colors easy and fun for kids (and parents).

This is what your flip book will look like when it is done.

Let me show you how to make it.

Print the pages out and use a paper cutter or scissors to cut each card.

There are two pages on a card to preserve paper.

If you’re going to laminate them, do it AFTER you cut the cards. I did not have any laminating sheets and did not have time to run these over to our local office supply store.

Laminating them will defiantly make them last longer. I laminated our alphabet flip book and have been very pleased with it.

Next, grab a hole puncher and the loose leaf ring.

Use the hole puncher to put one hole in the top left corner of each card.

Ensure the holes line up for each card.

Use the ring and add each card to the ring one at a time.

Now you can flip through each color and say them aloud.

You can also spell each color as the name of the color is written under the crayon.

  1. Elizabeth says:

I love this but would like to do it in Spanish for my classes. Can you possibly make one in Spanish or send me a MS Word Version so I can change the colors?

    1. I can create one for you. Give me a few days and I will get it posted.

      1. Kelsey Gutierrez says:

The page has an error. Where can I find the Spanish flip book?

        1. The English version should not give you an error. I had to take the Spanish version down because folks had said there were errors and I have not had time to correct them. Sorry.

  2. Nichole Jones says:

I see the alphabet flip book and the colors flip book, which I love, but do you happen to have a shapes flip book as well?

    1. I am working on that next. 😉 I will let you know once it is done.

      1. Nichole Jones says:

  6. Did you make the shape one?

  7. This is perfect, and so nice of you to share it – just what I was looking for! Would you be comfortable making a Japanese version — or, would it bother if I tweaked it for Japanese?

    1. If you can tell me how to spell each color in Japanese I will gladly make a version for you guys! Just leave it here in the comments.

  8. Tina Pulliam says:

Love the color flip book but I would add a color poem to each color so be more interesting to the children. I Made a book like this but about colors of a cat turned many colors as the cat ate certain food which turn the cat into that color at the end the cat was a rainbow cat. The cat couldn’t make up it’s mind what color to be. My preschoolers loved it. It didn’t cost nothing but my time. It was priceless to my kids. They wanted me to read it over and over, I’m glad that I laminated it. I love creating things to teach kids stuff.

  9. I think these are great! kudos to you! Thanks for sharing on Throwback Thursday!

  10. Would be good to have a version that is just black and white — easier to print and allows the kids to color them in too?

  11. Cute! Laminators aren’t expensive to buy and you can use them for so many things! Thanks for sharing at the Family Joy Linkup!

  12. This is so cute and easy to put together.
