Teacher Gift: Picture Frame

Sharing is caring!

You’re gonna love this.

You’re not going to believe how easy, budget friendly, yet personalized this gift is.

Perfect as a token of appreciation for your little one’s teacher.

Take a matted picture frame and remove the mat. You can find them inexpensively at stores like Walmart starting at $3.00. The one I bought below was $9.00. Save your craft store coupons and score one at Michael’s, for example, for 40-50% off.

Next, take a photo of the teacher(s) with the student. You can have prints made in minutes inexpensively at most drug stores. For an 8×10 matted frame, it generally holds a 5×7 photo. If you print a photo that is 4×6, just back the photo with a piece of pretty scrapbook paper or card stock that measures the size of the mat photo space. Make sense?

You’ll also want some scrapbook embellishments. You can find these awesome packets that are specifically for each grade level starting with pre- school. In other words, all the embellishment you need, personalized to the grade of your student’s class, all in one little package.

Affix the scrapbook embellishments around the mat.

Insert the photo.

Reassemble the frame.

And you’re done!

A precious keepsake they will cherish forever.

  1. What a great way to personalize a gift! I can’t wait until my kids are in school so I can do stuff like this with them for their teachers.

  2. I got one of these one year and I still have it!! LOVE IT! Such a great idea! I am visiting from Somewhat Simple and I would LOVE if you would kindly link up this awesome idea to my very FIRST Delicately Constructed Fridays; a crafty linky party that starts tomorrow!
    Please 🙂
    Have a great day!!

  3. Shanaka @ Mama Bee Does says:

Simple (and cheap lol!) but so appreciated by the teachers. My 6 yr old will be doing something similar for his Kindergarten teacher.

  4. That came out so nice. It would work with vacation photos, or other types of photos that you want to add some memories too.

    1. Connie- you’re right. I’ve made the same type of frame as a wedding gift (using wedding themed scrapbook embellishments) as well as a baby shower gift (using baby themed scrapbook embellishments).
